I was looking for something to randomise Patches.
I did found KeyKit, but I never tried it out. Then I lost the complete
program.
Can you give me the URL were I can find KeyKit again?

(BTW I am on the KeyKit #list, but that gives no answer)

Nice response. Do you know how long it takes to write this software? Spend
a bit of time and work it out. "Programs without simple user
interfaces"
generally don't have any functions worth using.

My guess is that you only using the Nord Modular software because there's a
manual, and it cost you some cash.

Oh yeah - and simple user interfaces are hard to write when people don't
give you feedback on your software to tell you what they want making
simpler. And if you don't even download & use it, how can you give the
author any feedback for him to make it better? QED.

BTW, I'm only ranting because I had this experience with software I
released recently. :-)

You're being a bit harsh. I have used both MAX and keykit. And while I'd
say max is no picnic I still give it the nod over keykit. Keykit is obtuse,
and yes I've downloaded it and used it. In my opinion, keykit, while
powerful, is a typical "academic" product suffering from strange user
inteface conventions that could be vastly improved while still maintaing the
power of the product.

Peace
Daryl

Hi.

I apologised to the author and wrote him a long and crawly e-mail about how
very apologetic I was.

And I feel like such a fool - I've never even *seen* Keykit, so perhaps I
too would be confused by it. An example of my own user interface is at:

http://www2.prestel.co.uk/lwtcdi/softsid/softsid.zip

And it consists of a bunch of sliders and checkboxes, maybe very easy to
use.

Yeah, I think so, that's funny. It is truly dificult to use, you MUST read
the manual and have it handy until you get comfortable with it.

It's not hard to use. I can see why people might give you grief over it,
however, it is not really "modern" as far as slider/checkbox user
interfaces
go. It is also very tight. to improve it consider using some custom
knob/slider controls and spread it out over more screen area.

Peace
Daryl

Is anyone using Keykit for this purpose?

I took alook at the sight, but it was too confusing looking for me, so I
never downloaded it to give it a try. Programs without simple user
